Guitarist Lucas Moretto Martinez has been steadily building his name as one of the most compelling instrumentalists/instrumentalist in the music scene of the South of Brazil.

Born in Porto Alegre-RS, he started to play guitar at an early age, and moved to Florianópolis-SC as a teenager. At 17 he was admitted to the Santa Catarina State University (UDESC), at the music department, where he studied from 2005-2007. In 2008, he moves to Europe to study at Codarts – Conservarory of Rotterdam (The Netherlands), where he graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in World Music/Jazz Guitar.

For 15 years, Lucas has been working as a professional guitarist, composer and arranger having played in several countries around Europe and South America. As an educator, he’s been teaching private and group lessons, and tutoring online students from different countries of the world. As a multi-instrumentalist, he also plays bass and mandolin in different bands and projects.

In 2016, he founded the jazz group Os Respeitáveis, which released its first single, Walrus Blues, in 2019. In June 2020, he released the EP Crônicas de Silêncio e Som, under his own name.

Beside leading he’s own project, Lucas currently collaborates with the bands Arapuca de Vento, Flora Cruz, Orquestra Brasileira,  Os Respeitáveis and Thomas Pessoa & Os SubUtilizados.
